 Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Provide client service excellence to applicants at all times, in full compliance with the CIC Statement of Work (SOW) and the CIC Service Standards.

  4. Maintain a professional appearance and migrant friendly demeanour at all times;
  5. Maintain positive working relationships with IOM’s Lead VAC Partner, VFS Global and CIC staff locally.
  6. Immediately inform management of any problems or issues related to her/his daily work and regularly make suggestions on how to improve efficiency and client service.

Job Summary: 

StrongMinds Uganda Jobs: The Graduate Interns will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of Group Interpersonal Psychotherapy (G-IPT) program activities in the assigned location.  He/she will identify, diagnose and recruit individuals with depression to join G-IPT program; treat individuals with depression within their own communities using proven medical health screening tools adapted to local conditions and proven G-IPT sessions.

  • Understanding of self-help approaches and empowerment in mental health.
  • Good group mobilization, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Experience working with people with depression and their families.
  • Experience in running self- help groups
  • Good verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Computer literacy skills in MS Office applications, word, excel, Spread sheets;

Job summary

Internships in Uganda 2018: We are offering internship opportunities for students pursuing their academic qualifications from recognized training institutions. Responsibilities and Scope of Internship Work

Reporting line

  • Student Interns will report to the Programme Unit Coordinator but will be attached to Community Development Facilitators (CDFs) to provide continuous support and learning based on the qualifications and interest of the intern.
  • The supervisor will coach and mentor the intern to ensure a successful internship experience for the intern, Plan International Uganda and training institution.
  • The attached supervisor is expected to provide feedback to the intern and the institution that sent an intern during the process of working with Plan International Uganda.
  • The supervisor delegates tasks to the intern to perform under his/her supervision.
  • The supervisor reviews the internship report of the intern and submits to Programme Unit Manager for appraisal.
  • Administration coordinator, child protection focal point person, IT Coordinator and other relevant staff will orient the intern on organisational operations and policies, including Child Protection policy.

Eligibility/Qualification
Students from reputable universities and other higher learning institutions pursuing studies in the following areas: Social Works and Social Administration, Social Sciences, Development studies, Education, Community Psychology and other Humanity related disciplines.

Other requirements

  • The intern must be willing to abide by Plan International Uganda’s policies and procedures during the period of the internship.
  • The intern must be willing to sign and abide by the organisation’s Child Protection Policy
  • The interns should be able to communicate and write in English.

  • The applicants for the Plan International Graduate internship opportunity should have completed their degrees in the recent 18 months and should have the following qualifications: Bachelors’ degree in Procurement and Logistics Management, Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Accounts or Finance) or related discipline.

Following a peace agreement in 2006, Ugandans are returning home and looking to rebuild their lives. The IRC is there to protect women and children from violence and exploitation by fostering a safe environment and encouraging education, and is supporting farmers and small businesses, and helping communities promote peace and long-term development.

Job Summary: The HR/Admin Volunteer position is a temporary position and the Volunteer will be a member of the team who will contribute towards the achievement of the head office’s HR objectives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Volunteer will work closely with the Admin/HR officer in performing the roles mentioned below; 

  • Support in creation of new staff personal files.
  • Update the existing personal files, ensuring that they all have the necessary information.
  • Organize the whole filing system according to staff T7s.
  • Assist in stamping all HR related documents.
  • General organization of HR Office documents/paperwork.
  • Perform any other official duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Confidentiality: Ensuring the non-disclosure of any information whatsoever relating to the practices and business of IRC acquired in the course of duty, to any other person or organization without authority, except in the normal execution of duty.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the International Rescue Committee HR/Admin Volunteer job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, or related field.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Knack for detail.
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Good computer skills especially in MS excel and word.
