IDRC Uganda Jobs: The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) with support from Malaria Action Plan for Districts (MAPD) seeks to hire a suitable candidate for the position of DATA OFFICER to conduct antimalarial therapeutic efficacy studies. The successful candidate will work at any one of the following sites namely Arua, Apac, Busia, Mubende and Kanungu district.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Create database, enter patient data into the database and prepare for analyses
2. Carry out data analysis and generation of data reports
3. Run and correct queries in the data.
4. Liaise with clinicians to rectify any anomalies on CRF’s
5. Maintain records in a confidential manner according to established procedures
6. Provide basic troubleshooting and ‘’help desk’’ support for computer users
7. Ensure proper daily backups of databases
8. Participate in the transfer of data to the Central Data Management Centre

Qualifications and other desirables for the job:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or Information Technology from a recognized University.

4. Integrity and ability to develop a productive working relationship with District Health Teams.
5. Ability to operate in a fast and diverse environment

University Research Co., LLC (URC) is implementing the USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Health Services in East Central Uganda Project (USAID/Uganda RHITES-EC) whose aim is to support the implementation of a comprehensive integrated investment in regional  health, nutritional assistance and HIV/AIDS programs. The five-year project targets 11 districts in East Central Uganda with an estimated total population of 4.1 million through a district-based integrated package of quality health, nutrition, HIV / AIDS and child development services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The incumbent will work closely with the facility records officers and where necessary health sub-district records officers and district HMIS focal persons and Biostatisticians to quantify the tools needed to ensure sustained data collection at the health facility.
  • Actively engage with the records officers to ensure that best practices of medical records storage and management are implemented.
  • The Data Clerk will also ensure that data on additional indicators outside of the DHIS2 reporting system are collected in time and submitted to the cluster M&E Officers.
  • Work closely with the facility records officers to mentor and coach other health workers on appropriate use of HMIS data collection tools for data capture.
  • The jobholder will manage the HIV care data: ensure proper filing and file retrieval during patient care and updated patient records in Uganda_EMR (OpenMRS).
  • Ensure that HIV care data captured on patient forms during patient visits is transcribed to pre-ART and ART registers and updated in the Uganda_EMR (OpenMRS) on time.
  • Work closely with the health facility records officer to prepare HMIS reports and submit them in DHIS2 in time.
  • Compile weekly, monthly and quarterly supplementary data not reported in DHIS2 and submit it to the RHITES-EC Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning unit on time.

About the project:

Part Time Jobs Uganda 2017: The National Identification Authority in collaboration with the ministry of Education  and sports and other stake holder institutions are going o undertake a registration exercise of all school going children in all primary, secondary and post primary institutions in Uganda  starting 29th may 2017 to 31st august 2017 (School term). The aim of DRC is to protect refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) against persecution and to promote durable solutions to the problems of forced migration, on the basis of humanitarian principles and human rights. DRC works in accordance with the UN Conventions on Refugees and the Code of Conduct for the ICRC and NGOs in Disaster Relief.

Job Summary:

Data Entry Jobs In Uganda 2017: The Data Clerk will be tasked with conducting and implementing comprehensive monitoring, evaluation and learning initiatives of DRC protection program in Rhino camp, to ensure that Project activities meet the highest standards possible, improve on data storage, to enhance reporting, and contribute to improving resilience capacity of persons of concerns.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
M&E Systems’ Implementation:
• Manage Monitoring and Evaluation data collection by liaising with Protection staff to ensure that monitoring data is collected, captured in the database, and stored
• Provide support in the analysis of indicator results, and in providing feedback to project management indicating where project activities and interventions are falling short, meeting or exceeding the expected outputs, outcomes and impact.
• Manage monitoring database for aggregation of monitoring data
• Perform quality assurance functions during data collection, entry and storage
• Participate in the development of project M&E plans with close collaboration with project coordinators
• Take part in development and review of data collection tools
M&E reporting and use for decision making:
• Provide support in the preparation of Monitoring and Evaluation reports.
• Support protection staff in documentation of lessons learnt, promising and best practices
Capacity building, mentorship & Technical oversight:
• Take part in/conduct workshops and training within
• Assist in providing M&E training to staff as necessary.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant for the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) Data Clerk job placement must hold a Bachelor’s degree in statistics, or computer science.
• Previous exposure and experience with assessment, research, including data collection and data management.
• Strong computer skills required.
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, and have experience using database and data analysis software.
• Respect strict confidentiality of the data.
• Excellent oral and writing skills in English.
• Familiarity with Monitoring & Evaluation for UN-funded projects is desired
