KCCA Uganda Jobs 2018: Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is the legal entity, established by the Ugandan Parliament, responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Medical Social Worker will also assess patients and relatives with social needs.
  • Provide psycho-social support, social care and emotional therapy to patients.
  • Work closely with Hospital management in the provision of social services to the patients.
  • Carry out home visits to patients.
  • The Medical Social Worker will also impart coping skills to patients and relatives.
  • Actively participate in research activities.
  • Adhere to the Professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
  • Manage and account for allocated resources.
  • Compile and submit periodic reports.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Medical Social Worker should hold an Honors’ Degree in Social Work and Social Administration (SWASA) from a recognized Institution.

DUTIES:

– Monitoring bandwidth usage, analyzing traffic patterns and volumes and determining implications of issues.
– Analyzing work load, including traffic and utilization trends.
– Ensuring timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on availability.
– Preparing checklists and processes for LAN and WAN help desk issue resolution.
– Diagnosing and resolving hardware failures, network operating system problems and other LAN/WAN related malfunctions.

UPDF Uganda Jobs: The Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) is the armed forces of Republic of Uganda. The Uganda People’s Defence Forces will conduct a general recruitment from 16 -29 Oct 2017 for regular soldiers and professionals into the forces.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

All eligible candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Education Qualifications: To be recruited as a regular soldier, one must possess a minimum formal education of S.4 (UCE) or its equivalent. For professionals, one must have completed S.6 (UACE) or its equivalent with bias in science subjects. Original certificates of 2014, 2015 and 2016 with a student’s ID are a must. All professionals will be recruited at Kololo Air Strip as per programme.
  • Citizenship: MUST be citizens of Uganda and must present the original National Identity Card.
  • Medical: MUST be healthy and medically fit ready to undergo medical and physical body check and a road run to test endurance and body fitness. An original certificate of medical examination; duly signed at minimal, by a Clinical officer from a Health Centre III is a must.
  • Marital Status: MUST be single with no children.
  • Age: Must be adult males and females between the age of (18-25) years. Professionals must not be above 30 years.

NB: Any presentation of forged or other person’s documents is criminal and culprits will be liable to prosecution. Medical, mental and physical fitness will be checked at the recruitment as well as at the training centre. An aptitude test to re-confirm level of education will be undertaken before training. ULRC Jobs: The Uganda Law Reform Commission is established by Article 248 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda (1995) and the specific operational details are provided in the Uganda Law Reform Commission Act (Cap 25, Laws of Uganda).  The core mandate of the Commission is to study and keep under constant review the Acts and other laws comprising the Laws of Uganda with a view to making recommendations for their systematic improvement, development, modernization and reform.

It is the considered view of the Commission that a good law must be flexible and receptive to change, so as to remain fair, relevant and up to date and above all, cater to the needs of the people.  As society changes over time so do the views and values of the members of that society. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING EXPERIENCE:

  1. A minimum qualification of an honours degree in law from a recognized university and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

The Research Assistant will be responsible for performing the following duties:-

  1. Carrying out both desk and field research;
  2. Collecting and compiling necessary documents for the fulfilment of the Commission’s work;
  3. Participating in consultation processes including workshops;
  4. Delivering papers and representing the Commission in various fora as may be assigned from time to time;
  5. Revising, translating and simplifying Laws and participating in activities related to the publications of the Commission;
  6. Performing any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor, Head of Department or Secretary.

NITA-U Jobs: The Management Trainee – OFC Engineer shall work in the Infrastructure Delivery Department and will provide supervision and support in the extension of the NBI/EGI to MDAs and Local Governments as well as the roll-out of IT Services and provide quality assurance of OFC implementations.

 The National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) was established as a statutory body under the National Information Technology Authority, Uganda Act, 2009 as one of the key players in the Information and Communications Technology Sector. Its mandated is to coordinate, promote and monitor IT development within the context of national social and economic development, with a vision as “a facilitator of a knowledge-based, globally competitive Uganda where social transformation and economic development is supported through IT enabled services”.

 

The Key Result Areas for the IT Services Officer will include the following:

  •  Engagement of MDAs and Local Governments to connect to the National Data Transmission Backbone Infrastructure(NBI)
  • Liaison and Management of Clients and Stakeholders on behalf of NITA-U in the implementation and rollout and delivery of NITA-U services to MDAs
  • Engagement of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and Local Governments to sign the Memorandum of Understanding and Service Level Agreement for the provision of NITA-U Services through the NBI
  • Participation and support to the establishment of key Government IT initiatives/Projects;
  • Participate in the supervision and verification of works, installation, maintenance and management of the NBI
  • Perform Acceptance Testing of the OFC Implementation and facilitate the handover of newly installed sites to the Network Team
  • Participate in sensitization of stakeholders on the implementation of the NBI Project and the services delivered through the backbone.
  • Prepare periodic reports to track progress of implementation and extension of the NBI to MDAs and Local Governments across the Country

Qualifications and Competencies

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Telecommunications Engineering and Electrical Engineering
