Support the day-to-day operations and administrative management of the Program and project field activities, working closely with Program technical managers and COMU, under the supervision of Senior Operations Specialist.
Follow up Medicines Management Supervisors’ SPARS visits with Health Facilities,
Travel regionally to support trainings and field programmatic events,
Collaborate with the technical managers and COMU for coordination of field travels and other logistical support.

 Specific Responsibilities

1. Planning – support the projects in the logistical planning of workshops, meetings and trainings

• Support the projects in the preparation of workshop budgets to ensure adequate and accurate information is catered for
• Assist in preparation of invitations to participants in accordance with the MSH procedures, with particular attention to ensure adherence to policies on allowances
• Conduct the Anti-Terrorism Clearance Verification Process for events’ participants, venues and related service providers
• Coordinate the selection of venues with all the necessary logistical support including Public Address System, venue arrangement, projectors, screens, etc.
• Ensure the availability of materials, including stationery, printed materials, branded materials, name tags, all arranged and packaged in an appropriate manner
• To undertake any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

2. Venue Management – Support the venue activities, including:

• Provide assistance to ensure participants are registered in time
• Coordinate the processing of mobile money payment to participants in a timely manner
• Coordinate with the hotels regarding the changes in participants’ numbers and to ensure services are as per schedule
• Coordinate the customer satisfaction assessment surveys.

3. Equipment – Ensure that all training equipment is well maintained and returned to safe custody after each training session together with, unused materials and branding materials.

Qualifications and Experience

No past experience is required, but position holder should:
• Have interest to work with an international health development Organization.
• Preferably hold a degree in Administration or in – training for a degree in administration
• Familiarity with event planning.
• Ability to work independently and to multi-task.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Word and Excel)
• Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact professionally.
• Should be willing to uphold MSH code of business ethics.

Job Purpose:
NDA Uganda Jobs 2017: To ensure timely and accurate quality control testing of samples submitted and report results.

Duties and Responsibilities

 Tests daily, all allocated samples according to approved test methods and procedures
 Participate, as required or requested, in bi-weekly meetings for planning and making schedules of samples to be tested and re-tested
 Compute data and generate sample analytical test reports, as require or requested, and forward them to the Senior Drug Quality Analyst and also participate in bi-weekly planning meetings
 Responsible for implementation of, and adherence to the required national and international standards and practices in the process of testing samples, management and control of data and test results.
 Participate as required or requested, in analytical method validation and in writing and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols, guidelines, specifications and other documents for NDA activities
 Participate as required or requested, in the testing of international inter-laboratory proficiency samples, review and report results
 Participate in preparing the annual activity plan and budget for the directorate
 Participate as required or requested, in the initiation of procurements, drawing of specifications as well as the evaluation of bids and quotations
 Review general and technical correspondences and queries, and advise on the appropriate response to particular situations
 Participate as required or requested, in local and foreign cGMP inspection, write reports and present them to the Good Manufacturing Practice Peer Review Committee (GPRC)
 Participate as required or requested, in workshops, seminars and retreats
 Attend departmental, inter-departmental, general staff, technical committee meetings and any other relevant internal or external meetings as required or requested
 Carry out Analytical method validation/ Verification as required or requested.
 Carry out equipment calibration/ maintenance as required or requested by the supervisor

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

Related to Dispensing:

  • To fill the Batch Register upon receipt of production plan and send it to QC department for BMR preparation.
  • Get BMR approved by the Production Manager and Quality Assurance Manager and in their absence the Assistant Production Manager.
  • Take the Store Requisition Slip (SRS) from the BMR and get the authorized signatures.
  • Make the required equipment available in advance which is necessary for dispensing like sterilized scoops, double plastic bags, and cable ties.
  • Give the proper identification tags on issued material in dispensing area.
  • Weigh and issue correct quantity of material and balance calibration in dispensing area.
  • Keenly monitor positive pressure and temperature/Humidity of dispensing area, bottle unloading and sterile wash area and inform engineering services department, if any abnormality found.
  • Regularly check the cleaning of dispensing booths, scoops etc after dispensing is over.
  • Return excess raw and packing material after completion of dispensing to store using a return slip.

Related in Clean Room Maintenance:

  • Monitoring of temperature/Humidity of clean rooms of manufacturing areas and if deviated from defined area, inform to engineering services department and shift in-charge.
  • Supervise the cleaning and disinfection of floor, ceiling, wall, pipeline vessels and equipment as per the frequency defined in standard operating procedure.
  • Report to shift in –charge, executive production and engineering services department regarding any kind of maintenance work of clean room through work request form.
  • Regularly check cleanliness of air locks after entry exit of the workers.
  • Ensure availability of sufficient numbers of garments in the clean room through follow up with sterilizer and dispensing chemists.
  • Regularly check and supervise proper growing of workers.

Related to Batch Manufacturing:

  • To have knowledge of each and every stage of batch manufacturing as per validation study.
  • Ensure cleaning and steaming process is carried out as per validated procedure.
  • Get the okay from quality control WFL approval/batch manufacturing/filtration /zero sampling.
  • BPT/FFT of production filters before and after filtration.
  • Regularly check the Wit of air filter.
  • Acquire knowledge regarding operation of all equipments of clean room.
  • Follow up of SOP during manufacturing of batch.
  • As an administrator in the manufacturing area he is responsible to manufacture the goods complying all GMP standards.
  • Ensure and check the health standards of persons working in the clean room area.
  • The incumbent will stop the production if the quality standards and GMP standards are compromised.

  • Checking ALF pressure before 30 min .of starting of operation.
  • Volume setting and volume checking at regular time interval.
  • Continuous checking of percentage Oxygen content in bottle.

Related to Sterilization:

  • Ensure the availability of empty trolleys for the next shift.
  • Put status tags on every trolley before and after sterilization.
  • Plan sterilization of products appropriately in case more than one products are in production.

The ICRC is an International humanitarian institution which has a mandate to protect victims of international and armed conflicts i.e. the wounded, refugees, civilians, prisoners and other non-combatants.

Job Summary: The Blood Donor Counsellor will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective implementation of blood donor counselling activities in the operational area. The incumbent will be responsible for the generation of proposals/ plans, implementation of BDR program plans and dissemination of quality information on blood donation and general URCS information in accordance with the URCS standards and guidelines.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work towards the achievement of overall goals of the URCS through effective managerial and lateral relations
  • Ensure understanding of roles, responsibilities, lateral relations and accountabilities
  • Actively participate in the preparation and implementation of the annual BDR program work plan and budgets.
  • Provide counseling services to blood donors in a timely and confidential manner in close collaboration with UBTS
  • Work closely with Branch Managers, Community counselors and volunteers to strengthen blood donor clubs and club 25 in the catchment area
  • Initiate, develop and implement new blood donor motivation and retention strategies
  • Develop and strengthen a referral system for blood donors in collaboration with partner organizations
  • Develop resource mobilization initiatives to support BDR motivation and retention strategies
  • Ensure timely submission of regional data and activity reports and accountabilities on quarterly and annual basis
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicant must hold a Degree in Counseling, Health Science, Nursing, Education and related experience is required.
  • Specific training in Health Education, Counselling, Crisis intervention, will be an added advantage
  • At least two years’ experience in a hospital, laboratory, or sexually transmitted disease clinic setting with at least one year of counseling experience.
  • Knowledge of group dynamics, customer care techniques, negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively implement programs is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office Applications
  • Working with blood donation program will be of added advantage
