Job Summary: 

PEP Uganda Jobs: The Trainee Store Manager will undergo a structured training programme as well as on-the-job training in order to become competent for the position of a Store Manager.

Pep store Uganda deals in clothing and footwear, homeware, FMCG, cellular and airtime products and also offers a range of other services such as cash-backs, Capfin (for loans), funeral policies, cross-border money transfers, selected bill payments, Flash electricity tokens and many more.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Increase sales by ensuring good customer service, maintenance of the store image, presentation and promotion of stock, stock management and correct pricing of products.
  • Stock loss is minimised through compliance with security measures, stock and cash handling procedures.
  • Drive a low cost business according to company standards.
  • Ensure administrative duties within the store are in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Management of team – training, coaching and performance management of team members while maintaining the company culture.
  • Adhoc projects and duties

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant should have completed tertiary institution or have higher qualifications
  • Retail experience will be advantageous
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. MS Office – basic
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Uganda Citizen

Job Summary
ACF Uganda Jobs: The Store Personnel will be monitoring the community-based Supplementary Feeding Program (CBSFP) and Maternal and Child Health Nutrition Programme (MCHN) food utilization at health facilities and community.

Job Description
Action Against Hunger (ACF) is an International Humanitarian NGO which has been in
existence for over thirty years. ACF has been implementing Food Security and Livelihoods,
Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene programs in the Lango, Acholi, West Nile and
Karamoja regions of Northern Uganda.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical Support:
Co-ordinate the supply of CBSFP, BSFP and MCHN food at all distribution points
Monitor CBSFP, BSFP and MCHN food stores and ensure that the food commodities are stacked in an organized manner. In addition, ensure good storage conditions for all food items including NFIs such as pallets are present in the food stores
Work in liaison with nutrition officers, submit timely food requests to the Deputy Programme Manager for verification and ensure that food is received and delivered at the different distribution sites.

Capacity Building:

Identify and propose training needs of store keepers, food distribution assistants and other staffs involved in food utilization.

Assessment and Reporting:
Prepare and submit weekly summary reports of daily food transaction/consumption indicating the number of children, pregnant and lactating mothers registered and provided with therapeutic supplies
Prepare and submit monthly corporate partner distribution/food utilization (CPDR) reports
Report differences observed between waybills, physically count 􀂡gures of commodities received. In addition, document the type, quantity, condition of commodities received from warehouse.

Staff Management and Supervision:
Mentor and supervise store keepers and food distribution assistants involved in MCHN & CBSFP food distribution at health facility and community level
Identify and propose training needs of store keepers and food distribution assistants

Coordination & Representation:
Actively participate in internal and external meetings as guided by the PM guidance
Actively participate in internal and external meetings as guided by the PM guidance
Actively participate in events organized in the refugee and host community setting
Coordinate with other sections of Action Against Hunger and all other stakeholders in the response
Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate for the Action Against Hunger (ACF) Store Personnel job opportunity should hold a diploma in food science/food processing technology, Store and records management, Nutrition or related field.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English
Extensive knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet and other programs is advantageous
Excellent store management skills
Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
Extremely 􀂢exible with the ability to cope with stressful situations
Excellent reporting skills with good oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of the local language is an added advantage
Diplomatic and culturally sensitive.
