About UNWEP Project:

Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) with support from the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWEP) will be carrying out Comprehensive Food Security Vulnerability Assessment (CFSVA) in both formal and informal settlements in Kampala City. The exercise will establish the prevalence of food insecurity, malnutrition and economic vulnerability of households in Kampala; identify and assess hazards and early warning signs for food insecurity; map functionality of markets, and impact on food security and food prices; and explore solutions for mitigating food insecurity and malnutrition in Kampala City.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Collect data in adherence to the approved assessment protocol and in consultation with the investigators.
  • Maintain and update the database which contains the contact details and information from the clients
  • Organize, compile and analyze the data
  • Administer study information to participants and obtain informed consent
  • Input the information in accordance in electronic formats
  • Attend to any study related requests and activities in consultation with investigators

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The applicants for the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Data Collector jobs should hold Bachelor’s Degrees in either Agriculture or Food Science or Nutrition or Public Health or Social Sciences.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

Community mobilization and registration

  • Community mobilization and coordination of food distribution activities at the FDPs in liaison with the Food Management Committee and Local leaders.
  • Mobilize community members in target areas for sensitization on project goal and selection criteria.
  • Work closely with local leaders to conduct beneficiary identification using approved selection criteria.
  • Conduct registration and verification of identified beneficiaries using LMMS.
  • Distribute LMMS identification cards to all registered beneficiaries.

Commodity management

  • Carry out distribution in compliance with WV and Donor guidelines and standards
  • Prepare food request based on the approved food distribution plan.
  • Notify beneficiaries about impending food distribution well in advance to ensure timely and full participation.
  • Liaise with warehouse staff on distribution planning and commodities dispatching from Warehouse to distribution centers.
  • Ensure that all commodities arriving at the FDP are properly accounted for.
  • Scrutinize all waybills for commodities arriving at the distribution centers. Ensure that the commodities are of correct quantities and quality as manifested on the waybill. Immediately record all quantities delivered short (missing), quantities lost in transit and quantities damaged if any. All observations must be recorded immediately. Commodities must carefully be counted during off-loading.
  • At the distribution center, commodities must be stacked in an organized manner, by commodity type to facilitate easy distribution. Stack commodities to the dot (no scooping except for vegetable oil).
  • Return all excess commodities received at FDP to the warehouse using Return to Store waybill.
  • Perform random weighing of the commodities offloaded from the truck to ascertain that they are of correct weight as indicated in the waybill.

Commodity Distribution

  • Supervise food distribution in a manner that will ensure all targeted beneficiaries receive all the planned commodities and in their rightful rations.
  • Conduct caucus meeting with FMCs and local leaders to agree on roles and responsibilities during distribution.
  • Conduct pre-distribution meeting to sensitize and inform beneficiaries about commodities in the food basket, ration sizes, nutrition and hygiene messages and any other issues to be communicated to them. Give beneficiaries an opportunity to ask question for clarification.
  • Ensure that appropriate crowd control measure is in place at the distribution point at all times.
  • Ensure all beneficiaries are processed to receive food using LMMS.
  • Ensure there is orderly lining, receiving food and sharing.
  • Conduct random weighing of rations received by beneficiaries to establish whether they are getting rightful rations.

Commodity Accounting

  • Provide proper accountability of commodities distributed at the food distribution point.
  • Prepare all necessary forms related to food distribution i.e. sign receipt waybill, fill in the truck inspection report, random weighing form, distribution center visit report, certificate of food receipt and distribution, loss damage reports etc.
  • Print out the distribution list from the LMMS. Ensure that distribution list tally with manual reports.
  • Ensure all forms and reports are completely filled and reviewed and approved by relevant staff.
  • Ensure commodity forms and reports are filed according to agreed filing format.

Supervision of Food Management and Complaints Help Desk Committees

  • Mobilize and supervise beneficiaries to the elect FMC and CHD committee members in each FDP.
  • Organize and conduct training of FMCs and CHD committee members on their roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide adequate resources which can help them perform their function well.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the World Vision Field Monitor – Cash job opportunity must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a University in Social Sciences or Development Studies.
  • Past experience preferable with a busy NGO or UN agency, in food commodities handling tracking and accounting. Prior experience with WV CTS system and or UN WFP Compass system is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of operation of LMMS and other similar software system.
  • Knowledge of major donor regulations pertaining to relief food commodities tracking accounting and reporting.
  • This position requires a person who is self starter, who can accomplish the task with minimal or no supervision. He/she should be able to manage a team of staff as well as cooperate with other units. He/she must be keen on details and well organized individual.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                             

  1. Sales to Retail Banking Customers: 50%
  • Actively participate in specific product campaigns by ensuring that the products are explained to customers.
  • Agree, meet and exceed targets for specific sales campaigns.
  • Maintain own sales performance statistics for management information usage.
  • Own and manage personal product & channel sales targets to contribute towards the outlet sales objectives.
  • Refer to the appropriate area of delivery for specialist product help or advice (e.g. Schemes or Home Loans) when uncertain about the product delivery or application process. Respond directly to the customer.
  • Build effective relationships with branch staff to ensure that non-sales staff refer customers to the Personal Banker when they identify a particular product or service need.
  • In integrated branches, build effective relationships with Customer Advisors to ensure that they refer standard customers who become eligible for Prestige products and services.
  • Responsible for complete account opening documentation together with customers and submit to the Branch Manager for review before submitting to operations for processing.
  • Call customers when their accounts have been opened, generate welcome pack letters and send to customers.
  • When selling loans to Retail prestige customers, complete the financial analysis and statement review on customer accounts. Where customers do not meet the minimum criteria, advise the customer, verbally or in writing as the customer requires. Report such denials to the Branch Manager on a daily basis.
  1. Operational Rigour and Compliance with KYC Requirements: 20%
  • Ensure accuracy of each new account application, loan document, Barclaycard application and bank account mandate change. Personal Bankers are held personally accountable for accuracy and quality of these and supporting documents that they complete and submit.
  • The Barclays Bank Personal Banker will also achieve operational rigour excellence in all aspects of procedures and processes personally undertaken to ensure green audit.
  • Follow the Retail end to end account opening ensuring new accounts are authorized and KYC compliant. Escalate any items that exceed the agreed service level time lines or where there are unresolved KYC requirements, to the Branch Manager.
  • Comply with all general Barclays operational risk & rigour requirements e.g. KYC and anti-money laundering regulations.
  • Occasionally, assist the Branch Manager to open and close cashier tills at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Carry out snap checks as allocated by the Branch Manager.
  1. Provision of Customer Service: 15%
  • Own customer queries and complaints around account opening, loans and card applications and resolve in a timely manner. Escalate any unresolved queries, or queries not resolved in a short period of time to the Prestige Branch Manager.
  • Build relationships with internal service providers (Operations and KYC Helpdesk) to ensure a quick turnaround time of escalated queries and complaints.
  • Guide customers to the appropriate delivery channel to meet their needs e.g. cashiers, drop boxes, ATM etc.
  • Advise customers as soon as cheque books, cards and other account items are ready for collection. Follow up with customers that have not collected the items within a reasonable time.
  • Advise customers as soon as new loans are approved and encourage draw-downs on the new loans.
  • When the branch is busy walk the queues- resolve quick inquires and direct customers to the correct counters.
  • Restocks merchandising materials (pamphlets, forms) in the Prestige Branch and advise the Branch Manager if supplies are running low.
  1. Branch Support: 10%
  • The Barclays Bank Personal Banker will work closely with the Branch Manager/BOM, open and close Cashier tills at the beginning and end of each day.
  • Authorise cashier transactions above their teller limits when called upon.
  • Serve as the cash custodian for the Branch. This involves checking cashier cash levels throughout the day, restocking cashiers or repatriating excess funds, and reordering cash from the external provider based on daily limits as set out.
  1. Community: 5%
  • Identify and participant in community initiatives to support as part of Barclays community initiatives (such as Make a Difference Day, Local community initiative, Financial Literacy)
  • Significantly contribute ideas to support the community initiatives agenda in the branch.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the Barclays Bank Personal Banker should hold a good University degree or diploma or relevant experience in a front-line banking sales/marketing/service environment
  • Competitor product sales experience is an added advantage

Job Description: 

The Receptionist is responsible for attending to visitors and deal with inquiries on the phone and face to face. S/he is expected to provide general information regarding the organization to the general public, clients and customers.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Perform general clerical duties, to include but not be limited to photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing, and mailing.
  • Provide office administrative support including organization and facilitation for internal meetings, drafting agendas, and taking minutes;

UCU Jobs: Uganda Christian University was founded when the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College was promoted as a university in 1997. International partnerships were part of the College’s missionary history. The Church Mission Society teamed with Ugandan leaders and others to assure the College had the necessary intellectual and other capital. Uganda Christian University was established in 1997.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Serves as a cultural and practical guide to USP students, helping to familiarize them with life in Uganda as well as UCU, Mukono, Kampala and Uganda in general.
  • Engage in formal and informal discussions with students regarding the issues they face in their studies and experiences in Uganda, including faith, Christianity and culture.
  • Travel with students; assist trip leader with preparation, follow-up, and tasks during trip.

Job Summary: 

PATH Uganda Jobs: The Interns will provide support to the USAID funded Advocacy for Better Health and gain experience and learning in policy advocacy; while also participating in capacity building interventions for CSOs and CBOs in the target districts.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

The Uganda Health Supply Chain (UHSC) seeks to contribute to the Ministry of Health’s (MOH) medicines policy objective of improving the health status of the Ugandan population by increasing the availability, accessibility, affordability and appropriate use of essential medicines and health supplies (EMHS), including reproductive, maternal, neonatal and child health (RMNCH) commodities. UHSC supports the Quantification and Procurement Planning Unit (QPPU) that is part of the Pharmacy Department of the MoH which aims to ensure optimum use of GoU and donor financing for pharmaceutical products by providing a single centralized system in the MOH for projecting and quantifying national requirements for EHMS; and coordinating contributors’ supply planning and ensuring appropriate products in adequate quantities are supplied on a timely basis.

Job Summary:

Supply Chain Management Jobs In Uganda: The Supply Chain Intern will carry out a range of critical functions aimed at ensuring availability of TB medicines and lab supplies at central and facility level. The intern will support NTLP in maintaining current logistics management information system and reporting requirements to enable the program make informed decisions related to supply chain management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Work in liaison with the QPPU Coordinator to ensure that TB medicines and lab supplies quantification and pipeline information are updated
  • Take part in the quantification, monitoring and supply planning of TB medicines and lab supplies
  • Work closely with the QPPU Coordinator to update TB medicines and supplies in the national bimonthly stock status report
  • Ensure timely ordering of TB supplies by all TB facilities
  • Take part in the implementation of the TB medicines web-based ordering and reporting system
  • Work closely with the M&E Associate to analyze data from the TB web-based ordering and reporting system and inform targeted facility supervision to improve data quality
  • Participate in data quality assessments for the TB medicines ordering and reporting system
  • Regularly monitor and update facility stock status for all MDR TB sites
  • Ensure that clearance documents for GDF shipments are availed in a timely manner to NMS
  • Maintain a tracking system for all TB medicines procured for Uganda.
  • Send regular updates to the Program Manager on the TB medicines and supplies stock status and any actions that need to be taken
  • Through the Program Manager, follow up with NMS regarding GDF medicine deliveries and any facility supply issues.
  • Participate in regular NTLP activities geared towards TB commodities logistics including meetings, support supervision, surveys, etc.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time as need arises.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate for the Management Sciences for Health Supply Chain Intern job opportunity should hold a professional degree in Pharmacy, supply chain management training or logistics management is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and shifting deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communications and reporting skills.
