Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) Profile:

Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC), is a state Corporation established by the Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation Act (Cap.330 of the Laws of the Republic of Uganda). The Corporation is mandated to provide security and commercial printing and publishing services to the Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies and to private individuals and organizations

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Reconciling finance accounts;
  • Maintaining spreadsheets;
  • Credit control;
  • Preparing statutory accounts;
  • Cash allocation;
  • Sales order processing
  • Managing daily post in and out;
  • Handling and writing cheques;
  • Receiving and processing all invoices, expense forms and requests for payment;
  • Verifying calculations working with the accounts system;
  • Reconciliation of direct debit mandates;
  • Managing petty transactions;

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Business Administration (Accounting / Finance) or Bachelor of Commerce.
  •  2 years’ experience in an accounting environment
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools, electronic mail software, and knowledge of accounting software
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Demonstrated written and oral fluency in English
  • Ability to prepare and present documents in a well-designed and attractive format with superior attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism when dealing with staff and UPPC Clients
  • Willingness to contribute to UPPC’s principles of transparency and honesty
  • Proven team and customer care skills
  • Constant face-to-face, telephone and electronic communication with colleagues, both internal and external
  • Requires constant sitting and moving; working at a computer for extended periods
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to work with a flexible schedule
