Job Profile
The Junior Projects Engineer – Electrical is tasked to provide assistance to ongoing project works in terms of technical capability, administrative support, ensuring standard materials being used, and a safe working environment.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Undertake risk assessments and ensure that it is safe to work.
● Bring any risks to the attention of the company management and if necessary to halt work
until safe to proceed.
● Ensure all paperwork is available and that it has been reviewed and understood before
setting out to Site.
● Assist Project Engineer from time-to-time; to determine scope of a project and design inline to LafargeHolcim design criteria, support the process of selection and project
feasibility analysis.
● Assist Project Engineer; to develop BOQs, Costs estimates and Evaluation of offers to
ensure compliance to standards and fair competitiveness.
● Assist Project Engineer in coordination/supervision of installation and commissioning
works to ensure the scheduled milestones are met.
● Generate and maintain regular progress and status reports to ensure necessary corrective
actions are taken.
● Identify and address any challenges on site to ensure the implementation is aligned to the
project goal.
● If requested to do so, to record any changes to scope and “as build” drawings as agreed
by line manager.
● Manage and ensure quality and safety of all projects resources.
● Any other duty as may be assigned from time-to-time by the Line manager
Minimum Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering.
Knowledge of safety procedures and standards.
Knowledge of project management techniques.
Technical knowledge of Electrical maintenance operations.
Proficient in project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
Basic computer knowledge with applications like AUTOCAD, SolidWorks, MS excel, word
and power point.
Ability to write, read and interpret electrical drawings.
Profile & Personal Qualities
Quick decision making skills and ability to solve problems “on-the-fly”.
Highly organised and must pay attention to details, accuracy and meticulous.
Self-starter with ability to learn quickly.
Ability to work under pressure and willing to work beyond normal working hours.
Proactive not reactive.
Good listening and verbal communication acumen.
Foster team spirit, disciplined and respectable before team.
Loyalty and respect for the organization.
Anticipation / Initiative.
Results orientation.
