Westnile Television is an exciting, engaging, positive, developmental, progressive & entertainment TV channel for the urban rural viewer niche with the vision to expand nationally is recruiting. The Vision of Westnile TV is “to be the most influential platform for educating and empowering the community to solve humanitarian issues in West Nile, Northern Region and Uganda as a whole world.” Westnile TV with the Motto “Lighting Up the Region” established in 2021, will operate on valuable portfolio of current affairs, balanced news, engaging talk shows, documentaries/features, infotainment and edutainment networks, adolescent & youth programs, organic and significant television production operations.
Job Profile:
Typically supervises technical crew in the performance of production activities.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Manages all production activities and operations for a television station including studio and remote site productions including scheduling equipment and personnel.
- Consults with producers and directors to determine most efficient execution of production design including staging and lighting environment for television productions.
- Prepares cost estimates for equipment and labor in preparation of production budget; monitors production budgets.
- Directs technical production staff in set-up and operation of remote site production activities; maintains production standards and quality control.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate must have a core understanding of and experience in the media industry, especially the television environment, and broadcasting will be an added advantage.
- Must be a Degree holder, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting and Mass Communications
- Should have strong and comprehensive analytical and effective execution abilities. Should be good at strategic thinking in order to develop business strategies that focus on short, medium and long term.
- Must be team work oriented, relationship building and have good communication, networking, motivation and coaching skills.
- Must have proficiency in use of Microsoft Office Packages
