Heritage International School is an all-age Christian international school located in the suburbs of Kampala, Uganda. It opened in 1994 to support children of ex-pat missionaries but has since expanded to welcome those of all faiths and none, whilst still remaining true to its core Christian values. We have over 40 nationalities represented and are currently moving towards our full capacity of 550 students.
Job Profile:
Typical responsibilities of the job include planning and preparing lessons in relation to individual pupils’ needs and examination syllabuses. acquiring appropriate teaching materials and resources. teaching music theory, aural skills and practical techniques to pupils. Are you an experienced and well qualified Elementary/Primary Music teacher who is looking to develop skills and diversify their knowledge in an international setting? Roles and responsibilities:
We are looking for an internationally qualified Elementary Music Teacher for the next academic year, starting August 2021. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated professional who is able to inspire students of all abilities and has a natural enthusiasm or ability to deliver creative and innovative lessons. We expect our teachers to be reflective practitioners who can evaluate their own practice and develop the learning in their classroom. We are also interested in teachers who have experience of using dynamic and creative ways to biblically integrate the curriculum.
We offer a generous benefits package to our international staff. In addition to a monthly salary you will be awarded with return flights per year of contract, school housing or alternatively a monetary housing allowance, two bursaries for staff children and medical insurance.
Qualifications
- Enthusiastic and growing Christian with the heart of service
- BA(Hons) degree or higher in relevant subject or a BEd degree
- Teacher qualification (QTS, PGCE) or full teacher certification from home country
- Two years relevant experience preferred
- International experience
- Two year commitment preferred
