Uganda Airlines Profile:
Uganda Airlines is Uganda’s flagship national passenger and cargo carrier. We provide scheduled air transportation services in East Africa and near-international markets.
On 23rd April 2019, we received our first two Bombardier CRJ900s, the first of a growing fleet. During our first phase of operations, we will be flying to the cities of Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Bujumbura, and Mogadishu.
With the upcoming arrival and addition of new planes to our fleet, we will expand our route map and fly to DRC, Zanzibar, Asmara, Hargeisa, Lusaka, Harare, Johannesburg, Djibouti, and Addis Ababa, and plan to make international flights connecting Uganda to Europe, the Middle East, West Africa and Asia.
Job Profile:
Keep records of all incoming /outgoing ULDs for Uganda Airlines and properly store ULD units.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Record all incoming /outgoing units on aircraft stand (pallets, containers, straps and nets) and send UCM (not later than one hour after flight arrival/departure).
- Send stock messages on specific days as requested by Uganda airline, and advice airline to uplift excess units or to add on stock in case it is low.
- Inspect ULDs for possible damage on arrival and before issuing to stakeholders for loading.
- Record units when issuing to stakeholders and keep record on file.
- Take daily stock and keep records on file.
- Keep units clean, straps in the locker according to airline, pallets well stacked on pallet rocker, nets spread on a pallet and locked when not in use.
- Keep containers on racks, curtains closed/straps fastened.
- Health & Safety Responsibilities:
- Comply and adhere to the standard operating procedures, circulars, directives, bulletins, instructions, and notices.
- Report workplace hazards and near misses to immediate supervisors and quality department
- Submit hazard/ near miss- occurrence report or a confidential report as required.
- Supports as and when internal and or external Safety and quality audits occur.
- Provide inputs during risk assessment process as applicable, support and participate Safety investigations as and when occur.
- Follow and adhere to PPE compliances at all time
- Any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or equivalent.
Professional Experience
- At least two years’ work experience in the service industry.
- Competencies
- Good Numerical skills, Communication skills Attention to detail and ability to drive (minimum driving permit class B).
- Technical Qualifications (if applicable): if applicable.
