Kiira Motors Corporation or KMC is a State Enterprise in Uganda established to champion the Development of the Domestic Automotive Value Chain for job and wealth creation.
Job Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for providing financial and accounting services to Kiira Motors Corporation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Posting accounting entries into the General Ledger.
- Preparing Management Accounts and any other reports as required.
- Participating in preparation of statutory company financial statements.
- Ensuring the company internal controls are adhered to and recommending any improvements.
- Filing monthly statutory returns.
- Preparing monthly bank reconciliation statements
- Preparing payments by verifying supporting documentation and requesting for and ensuring disbursement of funds in a timely manner.
- Prepare payment certificates and ensuring receipts are filed for all payments made to service providers.
- Filing payment vouchers and ensuring that all financial records are complete and securely backed up.
- Provide responses to accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policies, regulations and guidelines.
- Providing accounting clerical services as may be required
- Preparing Monthly Work Plans and Performance Reports necessary for executing the above duties and responsibilities; and
- Any other duties assigned by the Senior Accountant
Minimum Qualifications
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Commerce, Business Administration, Business Studies, Finance, Accounting or related field from a recognized Institution; and;
- At least Level II of a Professional Accountancy Course
Experience
- General Working Experience of at Least Three (3) Years and should have served as a Cost Accountant in a Reputable Organization for at least two (2) Years preferably in the Automotive/Manufacturing Industry.
