Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative formerly known as Reach Out Mbuya Parish HIV/AIDS Initiative (ROM) is a community-based non-governmental organization working with the urban and rural poor communities currently in 6 districts and ready to expand further. ROM provides a unique model of care to People Living with HIV and where necessary their families; taking care of the medical, social, emotional, and economical aspects of their lives to foster dignified living.
The program initiated in May 2001 at Our Lady of Africa Mbuya Catholic Parish to address the AIDS scourge in the slum communities of the Parish has since experienced rapid growth scaling up further beyond the parish jurisdiction. Starting with 14 HIV+ clients in 2001, currently ≥7000 are served annually.
Job Summary:
The M&E Assistant will be responsible for the maintenance of ICYD Activity data systems. S/he will ensure accurate and timely entry of activity-related data, regularly prepare reports and conduct field monitoring visits ensuring data collectors understand all data collection tools and the general M&E functions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work with the Activity M&E Officer and OVC Project Coordinator to develop ICYD Activity M&E Plan, including indicator selection and target setting.
- Carry out data analysis and reporting ensuring data completeness, accuracy and reliability
- Maintain databases and compile weekly, monthly and Quarterly reports.
- Carry out evaluations to ensure outcomes and lessons learned are integrated into the project and shared with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure that the information and reports generated from the management information system (MIS) are utilized for program improvement and learning.
- Provide technical leadership and supervision to data entrants and oversee data management.
- Strengthen monitoring, evaluation and performance reporting within the geographic area of activity.
- Support and observe the safeguarding culture of ROM, regularly documenting and reporting identified and potential safeguarding issues.
- Ensure health, safety, and security in your area of operation, as you promote the vision, mission and the values of Reach Out Mbuya.
- Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
- The ideal candidates for this position should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development studies, Business Administration.
- At least 3 years’ experience in social or operational research, research methods, development and management, with proven experience in data entry and analysis, managing M&E systems in NGO setting.
- A post-graduate training in M&E is desirable.
- S/he should have computer skills and competence in MS Word & Excel
