Nile Hotel International Limited (NHIL) is a company incorporated under the Companies Act of Uganda in 1994 as a company limited by shares, fully owned by the Government of Uganda.
Nile Hotel International Ltd is an asset holding company and is located in Kampala. It operates in the hospitality sector through a hotel concession/lease model. Currently, the principal activity of the company is to monitor its hotel concessions/leases as well as undertaking new investments in the hospitality sector.
Job Summary
Under supervision of the Manager, the accountant will be responsible for the accounting and financial management function of Nile Hotel International Ltd. The accountant will work closely with the Manager and other staff to ensure that the company’s resources are effectively and efficiently used in order to achieve the company’s objectives and results. To that end, the accountant will ensure that the appropriate accounting and financial management systems and procedures are complied with.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Book keeping;
- Accounting;
- Treasury management;
- Budget management;
- Investment tracking;
- Management of Company’s taxes;
- Fixed asset management;
- Preparing for and coordinating the Internal & external audits.
Minimum Qualifications
- The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting;
- ACCA or CPA Uganda;
- At least three years of experience in a similar role in a reputable organization;
- Excellent accounting and financial analytical skills;
- A good appreciation of relevant financial reporting standards;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Expert use of excel;
- Advanced knowledge and prior experience at using Quick Books is an advantage.
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and within the team.
- A clean track record (prospective candidates will be subject to rigorous background checks).
