Joint Clinical Research Centre Profile:

Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) is a Centre of Excellence that was started in 1990 to address the very serious problem of HIV/AIDS, which was at its peak by that time. The institution is a limited liability, not for profit, Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), which was initiated by a collaborative effort of: Ministry of Health, Ministry of Defence  and Makerere University Medical School (currently College of Health Sciences).

 

 

Job Summary:

The Accounts Assistant / Chief Cashier is responsible for processing of payments, deposit money in the bank and receive money from the bank.

 

 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Write vouchers for all bank accounts.
  • Write cheques for all bank accounts.
  • Prepare vendor invoices in Navision System.
  • Tracker invoices and payments for utilities every month.
  • Tracker and reconcile prepayments to various vendors every month.
  • Reconcile staff advances every month.
  • Enter and analyze all petty-cash expenditure in NAVISION.
  • Make deposits and withdraws on behalf of JCRC.
  • Type cheque payment confirmations, Telegraphic Transfers, and Letters of Credit.
  • Prepare project budget vs expenditure Participate in both internal and external audit processes.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A degree in Accounting or Business related with a bias in accounts
  • Minimum of 2 year progressive and professional accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting software packages.
  • Should have good interpersonal and communication skills and a team player.
