Makerere University School of Public Health Profile:

Makerere University School of Public Health is implementing the Crane Survey – Integrated Bio-Behavioural HIV-related surveillance for key and priority populations in Uganda (IBBS) project, designed to estimate the burden and monitor trends of HIV disease, sexually transmitted infections, and service uptake, including HIV treatment and STI treatment service, risk behaviours as well as population sizes (PSE) to support decision-making on successful service delivery models for key and select priority populations. . The project is to be implemented in 12 districts across Uganda (Kampala, Mbale, Tororo, Busia, Jinja, Masaka, Buvuma, Gulu, Lira, Arua, Fort portal and Mbarara)

The Crane Survey desires to recruit dedicated personnel to join the team for this roll-out in the 12 districts across the country, starting March 2022. This recruitment aims to fill existing human resource gaps in the Northern region (Lira, Gulu and Arua).

 

 

Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator will coordinate and supervise all activities of the project logistics management department.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Engage with supply chain stakeholders to ensure availability of all projects supplies
  • Give guidance at various stages of procurement to ensure adherence to applicable procurement procedures.
  • Responsible for Developing, reviewing, and implementing processes, policies, procedures, standards, work instructions and checklists relating to the inventory management
  • Supervise and provide TA to upcountry IBBS site labs
  • Responsible for contract management of suppliers at different sites.
  • Ensure that the site administration team strictly conducts their work in accordance with the approved processes, policies, procedures, standards, work instructions and check lists.
  • Manage inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments, stock levels of the medical consumables.
  • Evaluate deliveries. Shipments and product levels to improve inventory problems and shortages.
  • Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve procedures of supply chain logistics
  • Monitor demand and analyze data to anticipate future supply and logistical needs.
  • Report on inventory levels, supply chain progress, procedural efficiency, and personnel issues to management.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications for Makerere University Jobs 2022:

  • The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology, with MPH. Must have GCP and GCLP certification, and training in LQMS is an added advantage
  • Experience of working with KPs is an added advantage
  • Good organizational skills
  • Self-driven and team player
  • Multi-lingual communication ability is added advantage
