DFCU Bank is a fast growing commercial bank offering a variety of innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.

 

 

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Business Change Manager, the Lead Change Officer will support implementation of activities to operationalize strategic initiatives, aid a smooth transition from Projects to Business As Usual (BAU) to realize maximum benefits, as well as embed and address cultural factors associated with the change.

 

 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Create and implement change management strategies and plans to maximize user adoption & proficiency and minimize overall risk such that business results are achieved.
  • Effectively tailor change management methodology specific to individual user’ needs.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, organizational assessment, impact analysis, learning/training, communications/marketing, business readiness, deployment, and adoption measurement throughout technology consulting projects.
  • Create actionable deliverables for core components of the change management strategy including communications plan, training plan, impact assessment / resistance management plan.
  • Partner with Customer Experience to drive ongoing adoption of technology and business process improvement in post-deployment.
  • To support a smooth transition from Projects to BAU to realize maximum benefits – Business readiness, trainings, process changes, roll-out plans, culture transformations, and embed change within BAU.

 

 

Qualifications

  • The ideal DFCU Bank applicant for the Lead Change Officer job must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, Marketing, or Business Administration or another related field.
  • Certification in Change Management or Project Management.
  • Three years’ experience in Human Resources, Communication, Marketing, or other Change management experience in a Financial Institution.
  • Have been directly involved (in lead or pivotal role) in a Digital or Bank or Cultural Transformation Initiative.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Project management.
  • People management skills.
  • Change management skills.
  • Communication Skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal and advanced presentation skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Creative, energetic, resilient, and tenacious with a propensity to persevere.
  • Flexible, agile, and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations.
  • Organized and resourceful with a natural inclination for planning, tactics, problem solving and root cause identification skills.
  • Excellent relationship building, negotiation/influencing skills with team members and stakeholders.
  • Empathy, curiosity, and desire to improve and constantly learn.
