Job Title: Child Protection Caseworker – World Vision Uganda Jobs 2022

Job Summary:

To give support in identifying, documenting and responding to child protection cases of vulnerable children in refugee settlements. The case worker will monitor, conduct case by case follow ups and facilitate the interim care and reunification process of separated or unaccompanied children within the refugee settlement.

 

 

Roles and responsibilities of World Vision Uganda Jobs 2022:

Case Management:

  • Work with Child Protection Committees to identify, report and refer Violence Against Children within the community
  • Conduct Best Interest Assessments (BIAs)/ Best Interest Determination (BID) for UASC/CR
  • Develop and updated case plans for all children identified requiring case management and provide targeted case by case support.
  • Develop and implement a monitoring plan for UASC/CR in the caseload in consultation with the supervisor.
  • Manage 100% cases of UASC/CR in ProGress version 4.
  • Support the team to Identify, document, refer and follow up on 100% cases of vulnerable children in refugee communities.
  • Support vulnerable children and ensure they have access to the basic care relief items, services in the community and interim care.
  • Support case management using clearly developed case plans
  • Identify and refer UASC/CR for appropriate for specialized services including PSS, legal, medical, education, WASH etc.

System strengthening 

  • Support Child Protection Community structures to identify and report child protection concerns from their communities.
  • Orient caregivers on child protection policy, peace building activities (ECaP) model.

Awareness-raising

  • Hold sessions and consultations with children on activities and encourage full child participation
  • Participate in reflection and dialogue meetings within the community and mobilize children for peace building activities at the CFS and within the community

Reporting and documentation

  • Ensure all the necessary paper work for case management, completed accurately and stored in the case files to facilitate CPIMS data entry.
  • Develop and implement monitoring plans developed together with supervisor.
  • Compile and submit weekly and monthly updates, CFS&ECD statistics and reports on activity carried out.
  • Prepare and submit weekly work plan.
  • Documentation of success stories

 

Qualifications for World Vision Uganda Jobs 2022

  • Minimum of Diploma in Social Science, Community Psychology, Governance, Development studies and other related qualifications
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills.
  • Practical and relevant experience of operating in a humanitarian context;
  • Good knowledge and understanding of humanitarian principles and established international child protection standards is an asset;
  • Commitment to and respect for humanitarian values and norms;
  • Work with reliability and integrity
