GRAS owns 40,000ha of standing forest in Mozambique, Tanzania and Uganda, established through its own planting activities. It also operates East Africa’s largest sawmill in Tanzania, transmission pole treatment and charcoal plants in,Tanzania and Uganda. GRAS is also one of the first global companies to receive carbon revenue from its plantation forests.
Job Summary:
Ensure availability of timber stocks at the sales yard at Kasaali, coordinate sales and distribution of milled timber and other Forest products including, poles, seedlings, sawdust, scaffolds among others.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing all forest product sales including Timber, seedlings, sawdust, scaffolds among others.
- Assist with routine crosschecking of the weighbridge records to ensure that the right weight of all trucks is recorded
- Ensure proper handling of timber in the yard to ensure that quality is not compromised
- Take part in the daily, weekly and monthly stock take and submit the reports as required.
- Responsible for designing and following customer dispatch criteria and giving advice and guidance on product selection to customers.
- Liaise with Forestry accountant in tracking customer payment records and reconciliations.
- Responsible for issuing loading slips and ensuring that the record match with the payment details
- Responsible for planning and scheduling customer loading days and verification of loaded products align with invoices and payments.
- Assist members of the sales team in tracking client orders, yard orders and update regularly in line with progress at the mill.
- Resolve customer queries and recommend solutions based on expertise.
- Assist with coordination of transport of sold material to clients, and verification of transporter trip records,
Minimum Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or any other related field.
- Minimum of 3 Years’ relevant experience in sales administration
- Knowledge of SAGE accounting software and EFRIS
- Knowledge of MS Office; Word, Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills,
- Analytical and thorough
- Good negotiation skills.
- Ability to communicate in both English and the native languages.
- Team player.
