Job Summary:
To provide risk and dispute management legal advisory services in the legal department and implement the strategies for legal and litigation risk.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited (SBUL) standards in order to draft or advise on legal documentation and provide legal services, where required.
- Address internal client needs by providing basic to intermediate technical legal advice to legal teams within the Country or Product Areas and external legal representatives, generally under supervision, given limited experience.
- Support the management of invoices from legal services providers and follow up to ensure timeous payments.
- Implement SBUL decisions in a manner that is consistent with legal, regulatory and policy standards; in consultation with the Line Manager.
- Research case studies and legal precedent and assess the implications thereof so that the function’s and industry knowledge may be leveraged.
