Job Title: Pharmacy Dispenser
Organization: Lifeline International Hospital
Duty Station: Kampala
Roles / Responsibilities:
- Preparation, dispensing of prescriptions and stock control, ordering, and re-stocking of the dispensary.
- To cross-check the prescriptions and consult or communicate whenever there is doubt about the appropriateness of an item, a dose of a drug, or labeling instructions.
- Operation of efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the dispensary.
- Ensuring the drugs are received and stored in an appropriate manner, in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
- Using a computer to keep records up to date.
- Handling controlled drugs.
- Politely communicating with the patients, handing out prescriptions to patients or their representatives, and checking the patients’ names.
- Perform other duties as instructed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must have a certificate/diploma in pharmacy from a recognized institution.
- At least 2 years experience working within the healthcare facility.
