Job Title: Project Assistant (Agriculture)

Duty Station: Obongi / Terego

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Initiate and coordinate the planning of the Agriculture / school gardening activities
  • Ensure optimum utilization of Project resources at minimum cost
  • Assist the Settlement Manager in training and guiding project volunteers on best agronomic practices .
  • Sensitize the community on the importance of school gardening
  • Regularly visit and provide support supervision for volunteers in all project sites.
  • Collect and tabulate field data on project activities, and presents such data in forms of reports.
  • Adequately document, report and follow up on concerns regarding safe and secure learning environment to children to ensure friendly structures for Children with Disabilities (CWDs).
  • Perform any other official duties that may, from time to time, be requested and/or assigned by the Settlement Manager, Nutritionist, the Project Manager, or his/her designate.
  • Assist in the establishment of demonstration gardens and other agricultural innovations

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of diploma in applicable agriculture – with specialization in crop production
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in practicing agriculture, or practice of applicable agriculture from the institute is required.
