Job Title: Social Compliance Officer

Location: Kampala
Roles and responsibilities
- Identifying contractual social management obligations and controls;
- Assigning social risk categories based on Scopes of Work, community impact and risk and contractor capacity;
- Reviewing and approving Contractor Social Management Plans.
- Contractor (and subcontractor) communication and awareness (especially in areas of labour and working conditions, local recruitment, grievance management and use of the Project SIMS – Borealis);
- Designing and implementing an assurance framework;
- Defining corrective actions and where necessary, escalation to package and project managers;
- Ensuring close out of social obligations prior to demobilisation
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree in Law, and diploma in Legal Practice; accounting, financial reporting or equivalent and relevant education;
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in contractor management, compliance, risk, or audit.
