Overview:

Spear Motors Ltd, the general distributor for Mercedes Benz Group AG, Daimler Trucks AG, Stellantis, and Mazda Motor Corporation for Uganda, seeks to recruit a highly experienced Sales Manager. The Sales Manager will analyze current sales figures and develop effective sales techniques to boost performance, as well as hire and train talented sales staff.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and undertake initiatives to increase market share in existing markets and maximize business development opportunities.
  • Plan and undertake promotional initiatives to achieve revenue targets, profitability, and sales growth.
  • Assist the Managing Director and Director of Finance and Administration to collect and analyze sales statistics to determine sales growth.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor a prospecting and sales control system to ensure proper follow-up of all potential buyers.
  • Present and sell new vehicles to current and prospective clients, ensuring sales targets are routinely achieved. Track progress and lead the team to achieve and exceed set sales quotas.
  • Drive alignment by connecting sales functions to marketing, technical, supply chain, manufacturing, and other key business functions.
  • Hire, train, coach, motivate, prepare sales commissions, monitor sales performance, and ensure sales staff understand and follow dealership policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and lead scheduled sales meetings.
  • Maintain an accurate daily log that reflects all monthly vehicle sales.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction to increase retention and referrals to drive repeat vehicle sales.
  • Keep accurate records of existing and prospective customers within the CRM platform to effectively guide sales processes.
  • Prepare and administer the annual operating budget for the sales department.
  • Develop advertising campaigns and other promotions, and prepare sales proposals, presentations, and contracts.
  • Review the inventory daily to ensure the proper mix of vehicle stock for maximum turn and efficiency.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree or BBA with a strong bias in marketing.
  • Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM).
  • 07+ years of experience in a sales role at a dealership.
  • Excellent knowledge of auto sales and marketing.
  • Excellent knowledge of manual and computerized sales systems.
  • Proficiency in computer use, including computerized sales software.
  • Proven experience in effective sales strategies and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills.
