SAJIDA Microfinance is seeking applications from competent, dynamic, and self-motivated individuals to fill the position of Country Representative & Head of Operations.
This is a full-time position based in Jinja, Uganda.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization.
- Oversee the daily operations of the organization, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage and mentor staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Program Development and Implementation
- Develop and implement programs aligned with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Ensure that programs are effectively managed and meet their objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance and impact.
- Financial Management
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting, accounting, and reporting.
- Ensure financial sustainability and compliance with organizational policies.
- Manage donor funds and ensure transparent and accountable use of resources.
- Partnership and Networking
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government agencies.
- Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and other forums.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation.
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Identify and mitigate risks to the organization’s operations and reputation.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to standards.
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
- Collect and analyze data to assess program effectiveness.
- Prepare and present reports on program outcomes and impacts.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience:
- At least 10 years of experience in a senior management position, preferably in the microfinance or financial services sector.
- Experience in program development and implementation.
- Experience in financial management and donor reporting.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Personal Attributes:
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to social justice and community development.
