Nation Media Group is seeking a qualified, experienced, and result-oriented professional to fill the position of Electrician. This is a full-time position based in Kampala, Uganda.
Job Purpose:
To maintain the press and auxiliary equipment in the plant, install and commission new equipment, and supervise service level providers.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Planning
- Plan production maintenance for weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and yearly maintenance tasks.
- Ensure that all tasks specified by the planner are carried out on due dates in accordance with the approved procedures.
- Supervision and Compliance
- Supervise service level providers to carry out proper maintenance on equipment when due.
- Counter-check the work assigned to Electrical Technicians to ensure thoroughness.
- Ensure the use of quality work practices.
- Breakdown Management
- Attend to breakdowns promptly during production and solve problems within the shortest time possible.
- Installation and Commissioning
- Install and commission new equipment, including hardware and software.
Required Qualifications:
- Academic:
- Basic University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Professional:
- Engineer registration board certificate.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of working experience in a similar role.
Core Competencies:
- Very strong drive for results.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to follow through and close issues.
- Willingness to work long hours.
- Planning and organization skills.
