Job Description
Join our team as a Junior Finance Officer and contribute to managing the financial operations at our Kampala headquarters. You will be responsible for overseeing the petty cash unit, maintaining detailed financial records, preparing weekly budgets, and ensuring accurate employee expense reporting. Your role will be pivotal in supporting our mission to empower entrepreneurs across Africa.
Key Specific Duties include:
- Manage the Kampala HQ Petty Cash Unit.
- Maintain day-to-day spreadsheet register and ledger management.
- Assist in weekly budget planning exercises.
- Review and close employee expense reports in a timely manner.
- Manage supporting documentation for petty cash expenses across all branches.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Finance department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and procedures.
