Description: Redeem International seeks a Data Officer to support its mission by collecting and managing data that evaluates the impact of interventions on widows and orphans. This role involves collaborating across teams to ensure data quality, inform program improvements, and contribute to strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Evaluation:
    • Collaborate on developing and implementing impact evaluation strategies.
    • Conduct surveys and investigations on predatory eviction among widows and orphans.
    • Collect data on demographics, marital status, land ownership, and abuse incidents.
    • Ensure data quality and timely delivery for program improvement.
    • Enter collected data into databases for analysis.
    • Connect potential cases with Redeem investigators.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    • Collaborate with Casework Administrator on team performance data collection.
    • Support casework teams with basic data collection and management.
    • Monitor casework team data quality and provide updates to leadership.
    • Compile quarterly office reports and KPIs.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Communicate with stakeholders about Redeem’s activities.
    • Contribute to reviewing and designing organizational systems.
    • Participate in professional development and spiritual formation activities.
    • Support other Redeem teams and perform clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Required: Degree in statistics, population studies, economics, development studies, or relevant field.
  • Experience:
    • Required: Minimum 3 years in M&E, research, and data management.
    • Required: Experience in surveys and data collection.
    • Preferred: Experience in qualitative research.
    • Preferred: Familiarity with electronic data collection tools (ODK, Kobo Collect, etc.).
    • Preferred: Experience in start-up, international, or faith-based organizations.
  • Skills:
    • Required: Fluency in English, Runyoro, and Runyakitara (written & oral).
    • Required: Strong data management skills with attention to detail.
    • Required: Computer literacy (word processing, email, etc.).
    • Preferred: Proficiency in Google Business Suite and project management tools.
  • Attributes:
    • Required: Mature Christian faith.
    • Required: High integrity and trustworthiness.
    • Required: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
    • Required: Excellent independent judgment and ethical decision-making.
    • Required: Problem-solving skills in complex situations.

Location: The Data Officer will be based in Hoima, Uganda, primarily working within the Bunyoro sub-region with occasional travel across the country.
