Job Overview:

DFCU Bank is seeking a Digital Lending Specialist responsible for driving innovation in the Bank’s credit offerings. The focus will be on identifying opportunities to develop new digital credit products and services or enhance existing ones, using digital technologies and data analytics to improve customer experience, product performance, and regulatory compliance.

Job Purpose:

The role holder will identify opportunities for creating new digital credit products and services or evolving existing ones to better meet customer needs and the Bank’s strategic objectives. This includes improving the entire lifecycle of digital credit products to enhance customer experience and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of digital credit products and services in collaboration with the Product Development & Innovation and Product Management teams.
  • Digitize existing non-digital credit products.
  • Develop and implement credit risk assessment models and risk mitigation strategies for digital lending products.
  • Monitor and manage credit risk exposure for digital lending products in collaboration with the Credit and Risk teams.
  • Incorporate modern data analytics into the lending lifecycle, from eligibility determination and credit scoring to process optimization.
  • Improve the digital lending customer journey by streamlining application processes, feedback mechanisms, and implementing user-friendly features across all relevant channels and touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure all digital lending offerings comply with industry regulations, internal policies, and applicable laws.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive insights to inform strategies for growing the Bank’s digital lending business.
  • Identify potential Fin-tech and other firm partnerships to enhance digital credit offerings and capabilities.
  • Provide input into the Technology team’s IT roadmap and budgeting to align with the Bank’s digital lending objectives.
  • Support Bank-wide staff training initiatives on digital lending products, services, tools, and processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Computing, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications are an added advantage.
  • Deep knowledge of Financial Technology and Banking Products.
  • At least 5 years of experience in digital lending, financial services, or a related field involving the development of credit/lending services.
  • Demonstrable understanding of banking operations, Fintech, and financial services product development, including credit risk assessment, modeling, and management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess credit risk, interpret complex data, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficiency in digital lending platforms, financial software, and data analysis tools.
  • Good understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements related to credit and digital lending.
  • Commitment to enhancing customer experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to different stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail.
