Job Description:
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU) is a subsidiary of CCBA, and we are currently seeking to recruit a Commercial Excellence Director based in Kampala. As the Commercial Excellence Director, you will report directly to the Country General Manager.
Key Purpose Statement:
The overall role of the Commercial Excellence Director is to drive the development and implementation of strategies and initiatives aimed at optimizing commercial performance and enhancing overall business efficiency.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build holistic Commercial Excellence capability and insights to inform commercial choices and measure their impact & success.
- Co-develop country commercial strategy, ensuring consumer/shopper/customer focus.
- Develop integrated portfolio strategy for sustainable topline and margin growth.
- Operationalize RGM strategy and prioritized initiatives.
- Co-develop and deliver country marketing plans, including trade programs and in-store materials.
- Develop channel strategy aligned with sales teams.
- Manage country DME budget.
- Optimize trade investment and improve ROI.
- Coordinate end-to-end promo management process.
- Develop and retain team capabilities.
- Support customer team members with shopper programs, promo management, and category management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s in a Marketing or Business-related course.
- Added advantage: MBA.
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in both Marketing/Trade marketing and Commercial excellence/RGM.
- Proven track record of strategy design and delivery.
- Experience in planning and deploying annual marketing calendars.
- Experience with new product launches and national consumer promos/in-store execution.
Competencies:
- Strong understanding of country commercial strategy, cross-functional implications, and interdependencies.
- In-depth knowledge of topline and margins performance drivers.
- Expertise in commercial finance.
- Excellent project management skills and customer focus.
- Understanding of category/product P&L and financial models.
- Effective stakeholder management and alignment.
- Exceptional business acumen and learning agility.
