Key Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Human Resources and Talent Management Intern, you will be exposed to a variety of tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Career Development Support: Assist with the activities of the career development unit, coordinating with service units, and liaising frequently with internal team members. Share career professional development updates and links through the SharePoint platform.
  • Training Coordination: Arrange administrative details for French classes and other staff knowledge management training sessions.
  • Professional Development Initiatives: Assist in promoting career professional development initiatives.
  • Event Preparation: Help prepare for events, conferences, and manage visitor schedules. Schedule appointments and meetings, monitor deadlines, etc.
  • General Office Support: Respond to career information requests and inquiries, draft media and other communication documents.
  • Communication and Correspondence: Draft routine correspondence and communications. Attend and take notes at meetings.
  • Research: Conduct research on various human resources-related issues and assist in the preparation of notes and reports.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform other administrative human resources duties as assigned by the Career Development/Human Resources Officer.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
    • Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
    • Candidates with coursework in business administration, management, strategic communications and design, project management, public administration, legal (administrative law/human resources policy/employment law), political affairs, or human resources management are preferred.
  • Experience:
    • No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.
    • Training, education, advanced coursework, or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
  • Languages:
    • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
    • Knowledge of French is desirable.

    • Monitors and adjusts plans and actions as necessary.
    • Uses time efficiently.
