Digital Developer & Desktop Publisher
Company: MTN Uganda
Main Purpose:
The primary role of the Digital Developer & Desktop Publisher is to design campaign elements for traditional advertising and support both internal and external communication through graphic design. This individual will create or adapt visual communication and promotional materials to support MTN Uganda’s brand communication objectives.
Reports to: Manager – Brand & Communications

Main Job Functions:
- Execute briefs to specific design requirements.
- Design digital collateral for MTN’s assets and campaign materials.
- Act as the AVP for digital and offline assets for ad hoc campaigns.
- Design 3D animations and modeling for ad hoc campaigns.
- Translate UX designs into relevant CSS and other supported files.
- Create and maintain style guides and visualization documents aligning with MTN Brand CI.
- Support agency and client teams by participating in brainstorming sessions.
- Review third-party design executions for alignment with MTN Brand standards.
- Present work in an engaging manner.
- Manage jobs and meet deadlines.
- Develop software tools to support digital campaigns and traditional advertising.
- Support the design of traditional advertising for internal and external communication.
- Act as the resident designer for all ad hoc collateral as required by MTN.
- Create or adapt visual communication and promotional materials to support brand objectives.
Key Areas of Performance:
- Prototype developments
- Testing and optimization of prototypes
- Graphic design for digital and traditional advertising channels
Education:
- A related university degree, apprenticeship, or higher education qualification.
Experience:
- At least 2 years in a commercial environment or advertising agencies with both traditional advertising and digital design competencies.
- Ability to interpret strategic papers and briefs.
- Experience dealing with production houses and online media design entities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:
- Conversant with the latest tools, skills, and design trends in the industry.
- Familiar with local market audiences and design thinking rooted in local insight.
- Strong networks for discussing trends and ideas.
