About the Company: Women Human Rights Defenders Network Uganda (WHRDN-U) is a registered not-for-profit national network based in Kampala, Uganda, with a membership of more than 147 women organizations and individuals. Founded in 2017, WHRDN-U promotes a feminist holistic approach, integrating a gender perspective and focusing on building supportive networks among Women Human Rights Defenders (WHRDs) from diverse social movements and causes in Uganda. The organization builds capacity for protection of WHRDs, offers protection and emergency response for those at risk, and advocates for their protection.

Job Description: The M&E Volunteer will support the effective monitoring and evaluation of projects and programs at WHRDN-U, ensuring they are implemented efficiently, achieve their objectives, and generate valuable insights for continuous learning and improvement.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of M&E frameworks and tools.
  • Collect data through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and other methods.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and management.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to measure project outcomes and impacts.
  • Prepare regular M&E reports, summarizing findings, and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Create visual aids (charts, graphs) to present data in an accessible format.
  • Document lessons learned and best practices from project activities.
  • Assist in the creation of case studies, success stories, and other knowledge-sharing materials.
  • Support the dissemination of M&E findings to stakeholders through presentations and reports.
  • Provide support and training to staff on M&E processes and tools.
  • Support implementation of all M&E evaluation activities.
  • Maintain organized files and records of M&E documents.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with data collection methods and M&E processes is desirable.
  • At least one year of experience with women’s rights organizations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Experience Level:

  • Entry level.

Experience Length:

  • 1 year.
