Job Summary:

Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) is actively searching for an individual to serve as a University Controller. The Controller will act as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Reporting Officer, overseeing the University’s financial accounting, treasury operations, financial systems, and payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Reporting Officer.
  • Oversee the University’s financial accounting, treasury operations, financial systems, and payroll.
  • Provide direction, coordination, and supervision for financial planning and administration.
  • Maintain the University’s accounts as determined by the University Council.
  • Supervise the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly, and financial reports and submit them to the University Council.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by the Vice Chancellor.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree from a recognized institution in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Human Resource, or Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
  • Membership in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
  • At least 6 years of relevant managerial experience in a reputable organization.
