Infectious Diseases Institute Profile:
The mission of the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is to build capacity of health systems in Africa with strong emphasis on infectious diseases through research, and capacity development. IDI has five operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment; Training, Research and Laboratory services (provided through a partnership with the Makerere University-John Hopkins University Core Lab) and Outreach. IDI invites applications for the following full-time positions for upcoming US government (USAID) sponsored projects for delivery of services for HIV/AIDS and related health conditions.
Job Summary:
The janitor will ensure the public spaces such as the wards; patient examination rooms, bathrooms and toilets are clean and well maintained thus reporting any mechanical or technical issues of the facility to the facility crew.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for locking and unlocking the facility early in the morning and in the evening.
- Restocking restroom paper products and toiletries
- Ensuring proper hygiene and neatness of both the interior and exterior of the facility.
- Do seasonal inspection of the facility
- Do minor repairs of damaged things in the facility
- Be cautious and watchful of safety of items in the facility.
Minimum Qualifications for IDI Uganda Jobs 2022:
Qualifications, skills and experience
- Uganda Certificate of Education.
- Basic knowledge in HIV care
- Speed and accuracy at performing tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team
- Good communication skills
- Flexibility to work long hours, which may occasionally extend beyond normal working hours in order to complete critical tasks.
- Ability to speak local languages.
