COMPILATION OF A DATABASE FOR SUPPORT STAFF

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to apply for Support Staff positions at the Bank of Uganda for purposes of compilation of a database. To be eligible, one must satisfy the criteria for the following categories:

CATEGORY 1:

  • QUALIFICATION:
    • A diploma in a business-related field.
    • Any other related qualification is an added advantage.
  • WORK EXPERIENCE:
    • At least three (3) years’ relevant working experience in cash handling in a reputable organization.
  • AGE:
    • 40-45 years (as at close of expression of interest date)
  • COMPETENCIES:
    • Technical Competencies:
      • Knowledge of cash handling operations.
      • Basic computer knowledge.
      • Analytical Skills
      • Quantitative Skills
      • Communications skills
      • Report Writing skills.
    • Behavioral competencies:

CATEGORY 2:

  • QUALIFICATION:
    • A diploma in fields of ICT, Education, Business Administration, Business Studies, Law, or closely related field.
    • Should have obtained a credit in English in UCE. Should have obtained at least two (2) principal passes in UACE.
  • WORK EXPERIENCE:
    • Should have experience of working as a security service officer for not less than 2 years in a reputable organization.
  • AGE:
    • 22-30 years (as at close of expression of interest date)
  • COMPETENCIES:
    • Technical Competencies:
      • Electronic security systems operation skills.
      • Security observation and monitoring skills.
      • Basic firearms handling skills.
      • Basic emergency handling equipment operation skills.
      • Basic computer applications’ skills.
      • Surveillance.
      • Knowledge of existing laws and regulation of Uganda.
    • Behavioral competencies:
      • High level of transparency and integrity.
      • Good communication skills.
      • Polite and courteous.
      • Commitment to duty.
      • Accountability.
      • Ethical behavior.
      • Customer orientation.
      • Decisive with an inquisitive mind.

Physical Demands of the Job and Mental Fitness: Possess commensurate with the responsibilities of the position. Medical fitness.


Application Process: Interested candidates should submit the following documents:

  1. Application letter clearly indicating the category of interest.
  2. Certified copy of the Diploma transcript, UACE, and UCE.
  3. A detailed Curriculum Vitae. Applicants MUST use the standard BoU Curriculum Vitae form available under eCareers on the BoU website here. Candidates that use a Curriculum Vitae Format other than the standard BoU Curriculum Vitae format shall be disqualified.
  4. A copy of the National Identity Card (Front and Back).
  5. Applicants must be willing to be deployed at any of the Bank’s branches (Arua, Fort Portal, Gulu, Jinja, Kabale, Lira, Mbale. Mbarara, and Masaka).
