Marie Stopes Uganda specializes in providing contraception and family planning services across the country.

Role Overview:
The Project Manager will oversee a project portfolio funded by major donors or aggregated donors, ensuring timely implementation, efficient use of funds, and compliance with donor requirements. They will liaise with various internal teams and external stakeholders, manage project risks, facilitate donor engagement, and lead reporting efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support key projects funded by large donors or aggregated donors.
  • Drive forward donor priority areas in alignment with MSUG’s strategy.
  • Monitor and analyze progress against deliverables, developing action plans to address any issues.
  • Provide guidance on financial management and spending strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with donor rules and MSUG policies and procedures.
  • Engage with donors and potential donors, supporting fundraising efforts.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, scheduling regular field visits for monitoring.
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality narrative and financial reports for donors.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships, facilitating cross-team collaboration.
  • Lead project-specific external engagements, disseminating best practices and supporting fundraising and government engagement efforts.
  • Perform any other reasonable ad-hoc duties as requested by the line manager.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Demography, Business Administration, Project Planning and Management, Development Management, or a Finance-related field.
  • Strong background and experience in data analysis, management of large donor projects, fundraising, and stakeholder management.
  • Exceptional report writing skills and self-drive.
  • 8 or more years of experience managing sexual and reproductive health (SRH)/family planning or health projects.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
