About UVRI: UVRI in Entebbe, Uganda, conducts health research on viral infections and diseases, providing expertise, partnerships, and training.
Job Summary: UVRI seeks 2 Laboratory Scientists to support the Global Polio Laboratory Network, conducting poliovirus investigations.
Responsibilities:
- Execute lab work plans
- Manage inventory and equipment
- Conduct virus sequencing
- Implement SOPs
- Manage lab information systems
- Perform equipment maintenance
- Ensure biosafety compliance
- Participate in quality assurance
- Contribute to research and publications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in microbiology or related field
- Master’s preferred
- 4+ years’ lab experience
- Molecular lab and polio lab experience
- Previous international health work preferred
