Job Description: The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is seeking an Information Management Officer to support the Mixed Migration Centre – Eastern & Southern Africa with the management of quantitative data collected by 4Mi enumerators and partners in the region. The role involves data cleaning, validation, storage, analysis, and visualization of 4Mi data to contribute to informed decision-making and policy development on mixed migration.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Management:
- Implement data cleaning, validation, and storage tasks according to internal procedures.
- Lead coding surveys and reviewing codebooks.
- Manage regional ONA platform under the supervision of the 4Mi Project Manager.
- Compile quantitative data from relevant secondary sources.
Data Collection:
- Ensure maintenance of the electronic data collection solution.
- Support in preparing and conducting training of 4Mi enumerators.
- Share feedback with relevant project teams after cleaning data.
Data Analysis and Visualization:
- Contribute to quantitative analysis of 4Mi data using software applications such as Excel, STATA, and/or R.
- Produce snapshots and information factsheets based on quantitative data.
- Support with visualization of data, including GIS data, using relevant software.
Other:
- Contribute to regional IM working groups.
- Assist the team with administrative or other tasks related to 4Mi.
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, data analysis, or relevant computer science degree.
- At least two years’ experience in quantitative research and data management.
- Proficiency in electronic data collection solutions (ODK, Kobo, Qualtrics, etc.).
- Experience in training data collection teams and quantitative analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and rigor in dealing with quantitative data.
Languages:
- Full professional proficiency in English and Swahili; other regional languages an asset.
We offer:
- Contract length: 6 months with a possibility of extension.
- Salary: Band NM H1.
- Start date: June 1, 2024.
- Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya or Addis Ababa, Ethiopia or Kampala, Uganda.
- Reporting Line: 4Mi Project Manager.
