Job Title: Procurement Officer

Responsibilities:

  • Consolidate and implement organizational procurement plans.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement principles, standards, policies, and donor regulations.
  • Manage procurement process of goods, services, and civil works.
  • Conduct price comparisons and ensure purchases align with specifications.
  • Manage communication with vendors and internal stakeholders on delivery schedules.
  • Support development of standards and specifications for procurement.
  • Oversee logistical aspects of goods and services movement.
  • Fast track delivery of procurements, especially emergency ones.
  • Manage frameworks and contract renewals for optimal value.
  • Maintain an updated supplier database.
  • Review supply contracts for revisions, pricing, and past performance.
  • Coordinate disposal of obsolete assets and stocks.
  • Update Procurement Manual and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to donor and organizational rules and regulations.
  • Ensure functionality of E-Tendering module and contract management in ERP.
  • Support improvement of procurement workflows.
  • Provide advice for effective implementation of procurement plans.
  • Manage inventory and facilitate tendering and tender committee activities.
  • Prepare procurement reports and supplier performance reports.

Basic Qualifications, Training, and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Certification: Member of Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in similar role, preferably in an International NGO.
