The United Nations Regional Service Centre in Entebbe (RSCE) is seeking a Travel Assistant to provide travel-related services within its Service Delivery model. The RSCE, established in July 2010, aims to provide efficient, client-oriented, and scalable services, including transactional elements of human resources, finance, personnel and cargo transport, and ICT support.
Location: Entebbe, Uganda
Position: Travel AssistantResponsibilities:
- Approve travel and shipment requests for UN-authorized travel for various categories of travelers
- Calculate airfares, excess baggage entitlements, and terminal expenses for staff and dependents using a Global Distribution System (GDS)
- Provide information to clients on routings and itineraries for planning purposes
- Arrange tickets for official travel, training, medical evacuations, etc.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and preparation of reports
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical or vocational certificate in IATA
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in travel management, including the use of a Global Distribution System (GDS)
- Minimum of two years of experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, e.g., Umoja or similar
- Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable
- Experience in application of United Nations or similar international organization Staff Rules and Regulations is desirable
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is desirable
