Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Area Coordinator, the Officer, Driver will be responsible for driving authorized personnel and delivering collection services. The role includes safely transporting cargo or passengers from one location to another.

Duties and Responsibilities

Logistical Support:

  • Drive Evidence Action vehicles for the transport of authorized passengers, luggage, and other items.
  • Ensure timely attendance at pickup locations.
  • Deliver important documents to required destinations.
  • Ensure security and safety of passengers, vehicle, and goods.
  • Fuel the vehicle and keep it clean.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of trip schedules, daily mileage, vehicle condition, fuel records, and other reports.
  • Ensure valid documentation for passengers, items, or cargo in the vehicle.
  • Assist passengers in disembarking and loading/unloading luggage.

Vehicle Care:

  • Perform routine checks on vehicles, including cooling, oil, water, basic electrical, tires, etc.
  • Adhere to scheduled maintenance and ensure vehicle functionality.
  • Follow instructions and security guidance from supervisors and security focal points.
  • Report and take necessary steps in case of incidents or accidents.

Office Administration Support:

  • Support in maintaining inventory records of office equipment.
  • Help keep the office tidy, including file and equipment organization.
  • Assist other departments with select office activities (e.g., printing, scanning, filing).
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Ensure vehicles are used only for official purposes.
  • Provide timely logistical support.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle records.
  • Report vehicle incidents promptly.
  • Ensure vehicles are fully compliant with all accessories, licenses, and permits.
  • Keep vehicles clean, organized, and in usable condition.
  • Develop monthly vehicle reports on fuel utilization, mileage, travel time, and vehicle condition.
  • Maintain a well-organized office environment.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum of High School education/Certificate of Secondary Education.
  • Licenses: Valid driving license and public service vehicle license.
  • Skills: Proficient in written and spoken English, basic numeracy, good communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar role and driving a manual car. Good knowledge of local road networks and city streets.
  • Attributes: Detailed knowledge of road rules and regulations, team spirit, problem-solving abilities, ability to work independently.

Working Conditions

The official working hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. However, flexibility is required as work may extend beyond official hours, including weekends. Good physical and mental health are essential.
