Key Responsibilities:

Purpose of Position:
To guide and facilitate Program Development, Monitoring, and Implementation in an Area Development Program (AP) in line with Program plans.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Technical Programs and Projects:
    • Design and effectively implement quality technical programs and projects.
    • Ensure Area Plan (AOP, DIPs/cash flows/ITTs) are designed and approved.
    • Achieve targets for outcome indicators and submit quality reports.
  2. Engagement & Advocacy:
    • Support evidence-based local and national level advocacy.
    • Conduct dialogue meetings, support local churches, and initiate petitions for sustainable development.
  3. Sustainable Impact:
    • Mobilize children and empower communities for sustainable development.
    • Conduct joint monitoring and discussions, ensure functionality of initiatives, and engage in children’s parliaments.
  4. Urgency for Execution:
    • Implement monthly activities, achieve quarterly targets, and maintain sponsorship SOIs.
    • Ensure timely budget utilization and community assets monitoring.
  5. Talent Management:
    • Conduct performance reviews, capacity building, and nurture competent program teams.
    • Ensure continuous capacity building for technical project officers and partners.
  6. Learning & Application:
    • Establish effective M&E systems and apply learning to inform programming.
    • Document impact, compile success stories, and ensure functionality of M&E database.
  7. Systems Strengthening:
    • Establish operating systems compliant with WV standards.
    • Maintain risk register and ensure compliance with policies and guidelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum Requirements:

  • University Degree in Social Science, Agriculture, Development Studies, Education, or relevant field.
  • Post Graduate Qualification in Project Planning and Management is an added advantage.
  • At least five years of experience in community development sectors.
  • Proficiency in local language of area of posting.
  • Ability to ride a motorcycle with a clean rider’s license.

Preferred Skills:

  • Networking and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • High integrity and willingness to work independently.
  • Strong capacity building skills and experience in child rights governance.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to challenge existing mindsets.

Work Environment:

  • Field-based position requiring travel to hard-to-reach locations.
