Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda (CCBU) is a subsidiary of CCBA. We are currently seeking to recruit a Cold Drinks Equipment (CDE) Manager. As a CDE Manager, you will report directly to the Logistics Director.

Key Purpose Statement

The primary role of the CDE Manager is to lead, develop, advise on, and support the successful implementation of the CDE strategy, business plan, and initiatives. This ensures the company complies with strategic priorities, leveraging scale, and building fundamental processes, systems, and people capabilities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop and deliver an effective CDE strategy and business plan based on research, benchmarking, analysis, insight, and logistics expertise.
  • Utilization Monitoring: Monitor CDE utilization and provide advice on actions to improve this.
  • Market Conditions Monitoring: Monitor market conditions and develop initiatives to ensure optimization of cooler management.
  • Service Management: Manage and control outsourced CDE services and contracts.
  • System Management: Ensure optimal CDE Management system functioning.
  • Process Management: Ensure optimal CDE Management processes, practices, and policies are in place.
  • Research & Development: Research and develop specifications and guidelines for new cooler acquisitions.
  • Acquisition & Disposal: Ensure the optimal process for the acquisition and disposal of CDE in consultation with logistics.
  • Deployment Management: Ensure optimal cold drink equipment deployment, placement, and availability.

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor of Science in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering in Automotive and Power Engineering, Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Added advantage: Advanced knowledge and understanding of FMCG logistics and Cooler management systems and processes.

Experience:

  • 5 years experience in cooler repairs and management.
  • Added advantage: 3 years experience at a managerial level.

Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical ability and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound decision-making ability.
  • Effective communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ownership of operational area and accountability.
  • Application of knowledge areas, especially in CDE.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a high-performance culture.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • High customer orientation.
