Purpose of the Position:

The Project Manager – DRIVE, with support from the Programme Manager West Nile, is responsible for oversight of the RVO funded DRIVE project. He/she will collaboratively work with partner staff and other ZOA team members to successfully deliver the project. The PM ensures excellence in implementation of the project in terms of impact, timeliness, networking, coordination, stakeholder relations, adherence to ZOA policy, timely reporting, and budget management.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead project planning, budgeting, implementation, and monitoring in line with donor and ZOA requirements.
  • Oversee project activities as per proposal and plan, including the implementation of Participatory Integrated Plan (PIP) approach.
  • Facilitate capacity building and training for project officers and relevant staff.
  • Organize monitoring, data recording, and timely reporting.
  • Represent the project in technical working groups and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ensure team management, human resources, and capacity building.
  • Manage project finances and procurement in line with ZOA guidelines.
  • Ensure accountability through feedback mechanisms and complaint handling.

Requirements:

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree in agricultural sciences, development, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of project cycle management experience.
  • Experience with INGOs, institutional donors, and local NGO partnerships preferred.
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Innovative, creative, and self-motivated.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Sharepoint.
  • Ability to ride a motorbike in field conditions and valid driving license preferred.
  • Language skills in relevant local languages in West Nile advantageous.

Salary and Terms of Employment:

  • Location: ZOA West Nile office in Arua, with field visits to project locations.
  • Full-time position (40 hrs/week) with flexibility on working hours.
  • Salary Grade M.1a, starting at UGX 4,200,000 gross/month, based on experience and qualifications.
