1. Field Manager – Internal Audit

Role Overview: The Field Manager – Internal Audit (IA FM) will manage the field operations and ensure GD delivers a gold standard product to donors and recipients. This role requires experience managing and leading teams in the field. The IA FM will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and resolving program risks such as fraud and safeguarding. This role involves operational issue resolution, strong communication skills, and a commitment to GD’s values.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Risk Management:
    • Assess underlying risks related to GD’s programs.
    • Investigate suspected fraud and abuse, escalating issues as necessary.
    • Lead the internal program audit team in detecting risks, ensuring confidential reporting, proactive detection, in-depth investigations, and case management.
    • Examine program data quality and report inconsistencies.
  • Program Management:
    • Develop and manage team work plans for all projects.
    • Collaborate with GD global data teams to develop necessary survey tools.
    • Conduct quality checks through field shadowing and data reviews.
    • Ensure timely resolution of investigation cases.
    • Create and maintain performance reports and dashboards.
  • People Management:
    • Model ethical behavior and encourage adherence to GD policies.
    • Conduct career growth needs assessments and coordinate with HR for professional development.
    • Hire, onboard, and retain high-capacity program internal audit teams.
    • Develop a team with strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Reduce dependence on senior management through capacity-building and delegation.
    • Work with country support teams to ensure the team has necessary resources.
    • Maintain commitment to the standard of behavior and ethics required by GD’s Code of Conduct.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years working with vulnerable communities.
  • Experience in risk management, beneficiary protection, safeguarding, and fraud prevention.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Understanding of local community governance structures.
  • High standards of integrity, empathy, and honesty.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Technological literacy, including the use of smartphones, tablets, or computers for data recording and analysis.
  • Interest in advancing GD’s mission and values.
  • Experience in conflict settings and working with security teams.
  • NGO sector risk management experience at the field level.

  • Second Interview: 1 hour
