Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and the Chief Migration Health Officer (CMHO), the Medical Assistant will play a vital role in the Migration Health Assessment Centre (MHAC) in Kampala, Uganda. This role involves providing essential information to migrants, with potential assignments in either the call center or reception and data processing unit. The successful candidate must demonstrate flexibility in handling various tasks within these units.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Call Centre Overall Duties:

  • Provide migrants with information regarding health assessments via phone.
  • Register migrants in the IOM database, schedule medical appointments, and communicate messages for medical staff and beneficiaries.
  • Prepare master lists of migrants scheduled for health assessments and maintain daily statistics.
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction evaluations.

Reception and Data Entry Overall Duties:

  • Process all necessary data for the MHAC, including applicant registration and identity verification.
  • Enter applicant biodata into the appropriate platforms and manage medical documentation.
  • Receive completed medical examination forms and other documents, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate the transmission of medical documents to various partners via electronic or courier services.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • University degree or Secondary School Diploma with relevant work experience.
  • Certificate in IT/Data Entry is advantageous.
  • Experience in data entry or call center operations, preferably in a medical setting.
  • Knowledge of customer care principles and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in English and local language; working knowledge of Swahili is advantageous.

Skills:

  • Leadership skills (desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fast and accurate typing (minimum 60 words per minute).
  • Knowledge of data management principles.
  • High computer literacy in Windows and MS Office.
