Job Title: Learning & Documentation Officer (1 National Position)

Based in Kampala, Uganda (40 hours a week)

About the Job:

Reporting to the MERLA Manager, the Learning and Documentation Officer will support various activities related to documentation, learning, communication, and innovation under the We Can Work program. This includes documenting stories of change, facilitating brainstorming sessions, developing content for print and digital media, and supporting capacity building initiatives.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Behavioural Change Communication: Develop and manage content for print and digital media to promote disability inclusion.
  • Content Development: Create engaging content for WCW communications and audio-visual materials.
  • Co-creation and Brainstorming: Facilitate brainstorming sessions and “Think-Tank” activities around specified challenges.
  • Knowledge Products Development: Develop knowledge products, communication materials, and resource materials.
  • Capacity Building: Provide training to program team and partners on documenting change stories and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, or related field. Post Graduate Diploma in M&E preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional experience in Monitoring and Evaluation or a similar role.
  • Experience in content development, program documentation, and digital communications.
  • Strong team player with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities or mainstream organizations preferred.
  • Photography skills desired.
