Job Title: Program Coordinator, Central Region
Duty Station: Kampala
Reports to: Head of Programs
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist community organizers and central allies in developing unique and cost-effective training systems, community organizing networks, and campaigns.
- Provide oversight to affiliated chapters within the region.
- Facilitate at least one training per month on movement-building and community-organizing skills.
- Conduct at least five one-on-one coaching sessions (by phone or in person) for Solidarity Uganda trainees and partners per week, providing useful training materials and expertise.
- Make at least one training visit to an allied community each month.
- Handle all matters related to community organizing and building people power throughout the coordinator’s region.
- Submit monthly reports, concept notes, and accountabilities in a timely manner.
- Organize activists, organizers, and change agents to enhance social justice and social change in any community.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Experience in community organizing and mobilization.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field is an added advantage.
- Self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Result-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
Timeline:
- Three-month probationary period is paid, with contracts further negotiated thereafter.
- Deadline: 24th March 2024.
