Job Summary

The Agent Banking Officer will enhance transaction efficiency at agent locations by ensuring optimal service delivery by agents, their outlets, and branches. The role includes organizing and conducting frequent training for agents and merchants to maintain high service standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete first-level onboarding of quality recruited agents.
  • Train newly onboarded agents using the bank’s training manual.
  • Ensure agent locations are branded for visibility.
  • Provide agents with required merchandising materials such as transaction logbooks and receipt slips and ensure their effective usage.
  • Monitor agent performance daily to ensure every agent carries out transactions, and escalate challenges to relevant stakeholders.
  • Promote the bank and its services while directing customers to agent locations.
  • Perform first-level maintenance of agent banking equipment, including POS and mobile phone troubleshooting.
  • Support business units in identifying potential agents and coordinate joint efforts.
  • Report on the performance of agents, including growth metrics to indicate exits and entries of agents.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

Qualifications:

  • A business degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management, or any relevant field.

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience in banking, preferably in sales or relationship management.

Skills:

  • Critical thinking, analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Business development and negotiation skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of laws and regulations relating to agent banking in financial institutions.
